Macau Day 2

Val and I woke up late in the morning. So we did not know where to go for breakfast. Any breakfast offered in the hotel did not come in the package and it would be charged on separate bill. We did not join the group for breakfast either as the moment we stepped out our room was almost noon. So, we were not bothered to hunt for food in the hotel. We walked over to the Grand Canal Shopping Centre via lift. It was easy access to the shopping mall.

When we walked out from the lift, this was where we found. The foodcourt!We can easily find local varieties here, they have chinese food, japanese food, korean food, and etc.

Well i need to admit that this dish was a little pricey for the portion. I think we could possibly have half of the chicken served for four person back in Msia for the same amount we are paying. Ohh...no no no converting people. I keep on reminding myself at times, it's tiring to convert here and there when you're on vacation, provided more in the country which has high cost of living! Wait,i thought this is MACAU? the living standard also same as HK??

Anyway, the charsiew was quite nice though...:)



Famous Pork Chop Ramen= 30HKD=RM13

We noticed most of the patrons at the foodcourt ordered porkchop. So we pressumed that the pork chop must be tasty and famous here, so Val quickly lined up at the ramen counter to get one bowl of ramen with pork fillet!! It was soft and succulent not like the crispy type we usually have. Its not really surprising either and the noodle soup tasted like Ajinomoto soupie.

OMG, we actually forgot that we had that filling rice and noodle for lunch!!!and the worst was we forgot about the actual lunch meetup with them! We were so regret...simply because there was no room in stomach for all the good stuff!

After lunch, we were walking around the shopping complex! It is amazing! Look at the arcade, deco, lighting, river, gondola and anything you get to see here is EXACTLY the same as what you can see in VENICE!So are we in Venice now or Macau??



The Gondola ride is offered to the hotel residents for free.
What we love about this was the oarsman (Gondoliar) sang throughout the whole ride in we think was Italian or Venetian dialect. Haha i don't really quite know what was that but it sounded like PAvarotti so the songs were close to that type! Lol





The STONE MAN! He actually moved!!!

I've seen this in Europe before. However,when Liz and I first saw this, we were so ecstatic to see him posing in the same gesture for hours. Eyeing every single part of his body,we tried to spot the little movement possible. How can someone be so stone by not even letting you to see him breath!!




However, we both giggled over silly jokes like dared each other to make him move. Kesiannye,people do this for a living,we wanted to kacau pulak. Btw, i was thinking to see him moves is more uncommon than seeing him not move!! And we actually saw him moved and walked away! Probably that was his break for lunch! Haha, i think we shall give him a break man!

It's undeniably true to say that the Macau city looks really dead by daytime. Just plain and dull.

After OoooWoo-ing and Wowwwow-ing in the Grand Canal shopping centre, we realised it's just another shopping mall afterall. Sigh,the common girl's syndrome. There's only the shopping bit brings the excitement, and thats it. We were brought to check out another one of the latest and glamourous shopping Mall in town, The Wynn.

Besides ramblings through the big branded shops for hours, there was no any excitement we could find here. We then rested ourselves for having an afternoon tea.

Okay now you see the old and traditional Macau. Yaay that's the way it should be baby..! Now we feel a total different atmosphere.

I believe this place is meant for tourists. The local will probably not enjoy coming here because this place is rather small and the shops here are mostly selling foods and drinks to the tourists.

It'd be definetely a regret for not having a famous Portugese Tart here.

Yes, besides sightseeing and eating, basically there was no other thing to occupy us. This was dinner time again!



Soya Sauce Lala

Actually i ordered this. I remember long time ago i've watched one of the HK movies-The Mermaid played by Christy Chung.She ate something like this but it was hot and spicy. She wanted to gain back her pearl which she used it to save E-kin Cheng when he was once drowning in the sea. So she pretended her tongue was too spicy and burnt expecting that Ekin would kiss her.. Haha..when i shared this part, Alice was asking me :

'So you ordered this because you want to do the same is it?'

But this was not the one i wanted. I actually wanted the ChiliPepper sauce but i've accidentally pronounced wrongly in Canton, so ended up the lala was cooked in Soya Sauce.

The food overall was very salty and greasy..But they said this was the original savor of the dishes here. I still prefer our very home grown local grilled seafoods.

We were too filling to make any comments on the desserts. My tongue was not sensitive to savor anything at this moment, Please come and try yourself...My stomach was bloated:(



Finally, the night still ended beautifully..oppps sorry the city was just about to begin its day again....

Macau Day 1

The minute we arrived in Macau, we asked the organiser.
'Which hotel are we checking in?'
She hesitated for a moment, and answered with uncertain tone,
'I also don't know,it is booked by the boss, just wait and see la'

The moment we reached the main entrance of the hotel,we all gulped in surprise!! HOORAY!!!It is the latest hotel in town!!! and not until we SCREAMED ecstatiscally when we entered our SUITE!!

To stay in the Venetian, you must first feel the Venetian.

After settled down in the room, we both took a quick shower and dressed-up for dinner. We headed lobby to meet the organiser and friends. However, we were lost in the hallway as it is too long and the exits all look the same!

The first early batch of people left in the first coach. Levy and I waited to be picked up by the next coach. Meantime, we requested the jockey to take a picture of us with the fountain in the background. However he said
' You two are too beautiful than anything else in the picture'

Yaay!The first welcome dish since we arrived Macau. I did not manage to snap all of the pictures at this dinner because the food was served fast and finished fast. But overall the food was similiar to our local chinese food,equally tasty.

The only entertainment you can find in Macau is Gamble. Everywhere you see either in the old or new Macau cities, are all Casino. Maybe because of this, this city only shows its charm at night. A beautiful night city.

Here we were after the dinner, The Sands Casino!



A friend i met when he visited KL last year, and now we met again at where he is working now.

There is one common rule in all the casinos in Macau. No phototaking, everyone. Outside the building,YES; at the lobby, YES; but never inside the casino. It's kinda bothering me at first, because the interior deco is amazingly nice with the beautiful chandelier. Sigh,now a good reason for you to check it out yourself.

Since the idea of gamble was not the cup of tea for the ladies, we did not experience the fun of it. Luckily there are also some other light entertainments for people who do not gamble but enjoy chilling out at the bar in the casino. And we had few drinks at the bar by watching live perfomances of the in-house entertainers.

We left after spending 2 hours in the casino. We felt extremely exhausted already.

On the way back to the hotel, Val and Levy has not finished their conversation over woman stuff. So we went to the girl's room to let them continue the talking part. Now, the camwhores started hunting around in the room to search for a nice angle.



'Stare at the lamp Jean but don't face here, look with the eyes and smileee just a little.....!'

Macau/ HK

After Bangkok, places below were the second spots i have travelled this year. I've heard much about how fascinating this tiny place is about and finally now, i managed to explore the wonder-land by 'accident'. (It's not planned by own will, but a suprise trip given by the organiser.)

The winning of MMU 1st-runner has rewarded me a good trip, i must say. Despite some miscommunications on this trip with the organiser earlier, i have no regret for tagging along on this vacation.

People asked me :"Do you go there for a mission?"
I hesitated for a moment. "Probably...cuz i don't know"
Now i can tell you, " It's not really for any missions to be done, it's more like a fun vacation that you got to meet many people, dine in fine local restaurants,and being served like a VIP."




The view from the window of my room in City Garden Hotel. A very typical scene in HK, just like what we see in the HK drama. The units in the building are really small. Buildings are built closely to one another. When i lifted my head on the street, all i saw was zillions of cage-like residential buildings.


Souffle (in canton they call it SOR FU LEI)

A very special dessert was introduced by the organiser's friends in HK. According to them, it is made of egg white, stir until it turns bubble, put it in the oven and you'll see it done as picture shown. The skin is abit crispy but it's all soft like custard inside. It is served hot so i nearly had my tongue burnt:P

Anyway, please bear with me on the coming post of this trip. I will keep the post up as soon as i unpack my luggage, finish doing my daily routines, settle down on a laptop and start typing.
