虽败犹荣

最近得了个机会参与了电视台招聘的主持人面试活动。当接到通知说已被shortlisted可以出席此活动的时候，心情像嗑了药，突然变得好兴奋,只欠没在寿司店里跳起来！

结果在星期六的那个早上，就兴致勃勃出发了。找了整个小时，都找不到电视台，唉，还说住kl，好差哦！

×有点惭愧

最后找到了，却迟了一个小时。一推门进去时，只见穿黑西装的人头有好几个，其中有一位笑的很有风度的迎面而来，
‘你就是Jean吗？你好，这是你的稿，你先去化妆吧！’
eh, 当时我在想工作人员该不会穿得这样正统吧？
原来，他也是来应征的，难怪说话时的口音非常特别，像是听到广播员在报告新闻一样；eh,这样一听，立刻留意自己的口腔一下，唉哟，更加‘怕势’，才发现自己的华语听起来好像pasar一样，啦啦沙沙!不管了，此时此刻已无补于事，算了，读读稿吧。

oh no...原来是一个时事节目，一份稿足足有5-6页，每一页都满满的字。就趁造型师用他超大力的吹风筒往我头发一吹的时候，我很勇敢的把每一个字给大大声读出来，然后还把拼音啦，翘舌音啦给咬的紧紧的；就是趁风筒够吵，所以念的时候没有闲情理会他人眼光；谁知当风筒一停，我突然来不及收回声音，眼角扫扫角落，有位女应征者掩口偷笑，唉，的确有点‘愚’，可是算了，我唯有若无其事的走去走廊。

原来这次的casting不像一般的节目通常让参赛者独自上阵；而这次却要以分组进习，每一组四个人。对着我组里的三位仁兄可不是闹着玩的，除了一身’君子骨骨‘的装扮，还能操一口非一般流利畅顺的华语，说话时我一度以为他们在播道新闻，怎么听起来好像就已经有在看电视的感觉，好厉害噢！
oh no,我突然觉得好想上语文班:(

还有还有，对着镜头从容不迫不在话，稿词说的自然生动，且无需对稿，加上一副’我就要你看我‘的专业表情，实在很有水准；不知是录音室里的空调温度还是心里的胆小恐惧症发作，坐在主持座上的我，已经脚软的楞在一旁。接下来到本小姐了，耳朵架上耳机的那霎那，我突然觉得原来主持人有三把耳朵。除了要听自己，听嘉宾，还有要听导播。全无经验的我真的很’怕势‘的说，耳朵不习惯handle三把声音，结果自己内心的那把杂音把自己打败了。除了面对镜头有少许从容之外，呃...其他的都fail...

一个casting就足以把自己打得落花流水。还未与别人角逐，已经输了一大半。其实自己知自己事，我想我还是真的还未到班，除了说自己差劲以为，我想不到别的形容词，唉，好失败哦！可是话说回来，本小姐还是要振作的，虽然这次输的彻底，可是还有少许虽败犹荣的感觉；安慰自己的啦，想想其实并没有怎样啦，能够得到机会参与此活动真的赚到了。除了能够见识到多位高手的专业表现，也能从中看到自己的渺小与缺陷，这两点已经足够了。

现在我知道了，为什么行中人都说这条路难走。若你真的喜欢，就不要停下来；不停下来不是说什么都不做，等待着每次机会因为没准备而溜走，而是要不停不停的练习，除了要能言善道之余，还有多阅读，多写稿，多对着镜子说话。不要小看这些小动作，因为每一项都是致胜的关键。

看着我像泄了气的皮球似的坐在沙发，
爸爸说‘现在知道世界很大，自己很小了哦，还是放弃吧！’

眼睛盯紧报纸，自己偷笑却不答一句。
喝，想起来那几位仁兄在当我在背稿时，身边走过对我瞄了一下，那对我不屑一看的眼神，终于让我明白原来背后为自己兴趣不断付出与坚持的人，才可以驾这种气势的。
现在除了佩服，还是佩服。


呵呵...
别我问现在有什么plan,我需要一点时间‘备势’...

Saving Face

Recently just watched this highly recommended movie introduced by Lionel on the other day i saw her on MSN. I chuckled for abit when she asked me to search for the title 'Saving Face' on youtube. The title sounds a little unreal yet funny..and for one sec i thought the movie could be a Singaporean one. lol* Well, i was so anticipating to watch the movie as i was told by Lionel,

'i think u'll love the movie, though its about two chinese-american lesbians... '

Ahh,interesting!

Its not just about the two lesbians,of course, the story is so entertaining and inspiring especially to all chinese from all places!Though watching it on youtube in 13 screens is not so perfect, but overall the movie is good.

The story starts with a girl named Wilhemia, who is a surgeon that lives with her mother and grandparents in the states. Her mother always concerns for her daughter who still a single, and often trying to match her with her friend's son. But Wil is a gay and she is in love with a dancer girlfriend-Vivien. On the other hand, Wil's mother comes home one day with her unwed pregnancy, that shocks the whole family. For Wil's grandpa is a reputable man in the chinese circle of friends, he cant accept the fact that his daughter got pregnant with an unknown man.

Well,i would say the movie does reflect a very real scene of the generation gap in the chinese though they have been living more than a decade in the states. And its funny to see how typical chinese hold onto the very typical value of 'think before you act, and make sure you don't lose face of the family'.Ahh... im sure this is one of the issues faced by most chinese. I personally love the plot very much. For Wil's scenario, though she is all born and bred in the states, she can't seem to escape from the chinese traditions.


Hey peeps, if you have nothing to do at home, do watch this over the weekend.

Sinful Palette

i knew it. i just knew it!

i just know everytime when i meet Mark, he will give me a pressie. Aww...though during this visit back to KL was for a sad purpose,it was still great meeting him and his wife again. But yet, this palette is gonna kill me for some reasons. I have tried to not look at it, touch it, or even think about it. Awww...it's too tempting! and there goes the never ending story of my forehead ACNE.

Sheet!

The day when i received the palatte, i just dumped the box into the fridge so i will not be tempted. Mmm...but then since mom was asking if its edible else she will throw it away. Haha so i quickly opened the box for sharing. When i unwrapped the palette, i was like 'whoa...so the nice' ..., and i told myself,' look only and don't touch', sheet* i can't..i just cant resist. so i picked only ONE, yes the ONE in pink. Double sheet* first bite was amazing!! The cherry in the chocolate just melted like that, and the aroma of sweet alcohol liquid filled all over my mouth...Ohh...it feels so sinful...


Now my acne on my forehead has made a BIG comeback, with more members.
Aw...Kill me!

Earth Hour

The day has come, for a little effort we can do to save the earth.
Let's join the movement in 2 hours time! Turn off your lights and unnecessary electronic usage for just an hour.

This is the least humankind can do to contribute to the earth.

Tomato Facial Mask(Blemish Skin)

Lately, there has been some of my girl friends facing same skin problem as i do-that is Acne/Pimple problem. Don't you think its so upseting when you look into mirror and find your face full of spots? Oh no...please kill me!

i've consulted skin specialist several times, and being told the same thing,

' we can't tell you the exact cause of your pimples, it could be stress, hormone imbalance, or bacteria infection...'

Gosh! How can doctor throw back the ball to me? And what is the solution??

'Well, take my tablets for six months and we will monitor again....or do the injection,you'll see the difference in 2 to 3 days.'

'Injection on my forehead? Puhlease....shoot me..Alrite,i choose the longer path:'('

Despite taking medication prescribed by doctor, i've grabbed a tip from Mr T's sister. She is having equally bad acne problem, and she discovered doing it in organic way for a facial mask is helpful. And to my surprise, her spots totally dried out after she has done the mask for 3 times.

So i quickly tested on my skin, and it worked!
I can't wait to share this with you!

You just need THREE of THESE:

Pure Yogurt ( No flavouring)
(i'd recommend Super Yogurt from NZ because it's not too watery)
1 X Tomato
1 X clean and plain Facial Mask Sheet (optional)

Ingredients:

Take 2 spoonful of yogurt into a bowl.
Wash the tomato, peel off the skin, and put it into a blender.
(or just mash it with barehand, but make sure your hands are clean)
Mash/Blend the tomato until it is even.
Mix the tomato mash with the yogurt.
Stir to form a smooth paste.

If you have extra hands to help apply the paste onto your face, its fantastic:) All you have to do just lie down with your feet up and relax for 15 minutes, until the mask is almost dry.

Otherwise, a plain facial mask sheet is helpful. Just pour the paste onto the sheet bit by bit and let it soak for 10 second, then slowly apply it to your face. One good thing about the mask is, it helps to hold the juice/mash dribbles all around your neck. Just put the towel around neck for cleaning purpose.

Or you have better way to do it, do share me!
After 15 minutes, just rinse it off with plenty of water and a soft cloth.

For i am having really bad acne on my forehead, so i apply the mask on alternate days. I will not say the pimples/acne go off immediately after the mask, but they dry out on the affected area. Tomato is one good natural ingredient for blemish skin.


Oh yeah, one small tip:
To avoid allergy, test it on your skin near your ear area or hand before you apply it to your whole face.

Alright, i am looking at other natural ingredients in making facial masks for blemish skin. Please do share me if you have some cool tips!

PASSING THE ONIONS AROUND

The heng dais are needed to line up in a U-shape and passing the onions by only using mouth from first to the last one. The last one will be the groom, to pass back the onion to us. Altogether 9 onions to pass around.

Gee***

We start to smell the onion when it goes to fifth/sixth person and can you imagine when one of the sisters collects the onions that are full with saliva?? Nono...not a good idea cuz the groom will need to kiss the bride later!

ROUND 02:
EAT UP ALL THE CANDIES BENEATH THE FLOUR


A love-shaped box covered with sugar and flour is given.
The box has 12 candies inside, so each heng dai will need to eat up each candy by only using mouth. The difficult part is, they are not allowed to cross/step over the string!

So hengdai, please lend a hand to your friend and pull him straight!

Now you see a Siberian Husky:P

ROUND 03:
FINISH THE BANANA IN 30 SECOND

5 heng dais will be selected to finish up the banana within 30 seconds.
Instead of chewing bit by bit, they squeezed the whole slice into mouth, and start swallowing! hahaha,damn funny... we hear them say,

' oh gosh, now only know banana also can choke!'






ROUND 04:
GUESSING WHAT'S INSIDE THE BLACK BOX

The wedding dinner was held at the Noble Banquet, a simply modern chinese restaurant that comes in a very modest yet graceful decor. By right, the atmosphere was supposed to be a little tranquil and tasteful..But then sorry la...not our table...there was just one happening bunch of chics not knowing what was going on. This is what happen when you put more than 3 women together, provided more the very 38 and 'close-to-death' buddies. Asking what you do la, saying your dress nice la, asking where you buy your shoes from la, complaining about your job la...list goes on and on..

... and the funniest thing is, after Yen li talked on a topic about cervical cancer, all women from the same table suddenly become like aunty, all eager to go for injection.

'aiyo...when la when la go for injection...'
'scare la..true also huh very scary thing..'
'ok la let's go together gether okie...'
'..all going together maybe got extra discounts!'

finally... the conclusion is, all the so-called aunties are expecting me to name a day so all of us can go for the injection together-gether:P
See la...women business..injection also can go in one Van already!

第二次光顾的西餐店，
菜单没有太多选择，
可是每一道都是精心炮制的。
不管是肉的嫩度，还是鹅肝的厚度，
都是让人期待的细节。


遇到好的食物，也需要一点点缘分，
这位厨师，跟他的作品一样，
很有性格。

朋友的生日，想吃中餐。
结果千选万选的，挑了丝绸之路，
那天是星期天，店里就只有我们，
感觉好像把店包起来了。
不懂为什么，太安静的餐厅让我有种不安的感觉。
当时在猜想，
是食物不好，或者服务差？
算了，试下吧。


结果两人叫了三道菜加一汤，
汤还过得去，
可是那道麻婆豆腐真的差的有点让人惊喜，
怎么这样高级的中餐厅，
这样简单的菜让人吃起来感觉菜已冷了，
更失望的是，像是吃味精加豆腐，
有点失败。


这道白肉卷，还算ok,
我喜欢那个把肉片吊起来的吊架，
很有气势。


有时太安静的气氛，
真的不妙。

很纯碎的逛，没有目的的逛，

晚餐时间，朋友问，

‘好久没吃fondue,想吃Chocolate!’

看到令人垂涎的fondue摆设，
充满希望的把香蕉浸在巧克力湖里，
然后捞上来，
一口的咬下去，

啊.......*


......有点失望。


巧克力湖太油了，而且不够热，
沾了油腻腻又不冷不热的chocolate，
吃下去很腻！


好吃的巧克力湖，
是应该当水果一捞上来的时候，
会立即凝结成薄薄的一层巧克力块，
咬下去的是时候是脆脆的，
口感是QQ的，
然后配着冷冷的水果吃，更爽！




唉，对不起，或许我要求太多了。
